Cliff Richard
The main act for Germany 2010 is Sir Clif Richard. Eventually, Dirk Hohmeyer was able to persuade him after providing lots of information and explanation.
The younger ones amongst us: Cliff who? Cliff Richard was the British respond to Elvis Presley, literarily a living legend: he’s celebrating his 70th birthday on the 14th of October 2010, an artist since 1958 (Move it is still rocking), and he was able to be there in the top charts each decennium since the fifties!
The somewhat older ones here, still remember him with his wonderful band that accompanied him until 1969, The Shadows; it’s from that time the hits Do you wanna dance (wonderful rock and roll in 1962!) and Lucky Lips are dated. He sold over 260 million records. Represented two times the united kingdom on the European Song Festival with the hits Congratulations in 1968 and Power To All Our Friends in 1973.
Cliff adapted his style to the changing times: Devil Woman, Miss You and We don’t talk anymore are examples of modern songs; Living Doll was abused with his contribution in 1986 by The Young Ones.
On the 25th of October, he was knighted by the British Queen and since then he carries the title Sire Cliff Richard OBE.
Sir Cliff Richard is a man with style and sense. Nowadays, he’s also supporting young storming talent in tennis and owns his own vineyards in Portugal. Also, he has four own perfumes. Since 1964, Cliff Richard is a convinced Christian and also has some gospel music on his repertoire.
